Physics based simulations of cloth and liquid become one of the most important topics in computer graphics in accordance with the recent dramatic advances of fabrication technology. Especially, a calculation cost reduction in cloth simulation along with a garment transfer with keeping an original design and style are composing the hottest topic in this research area. Also a photorealistic facial animation along with facial soft tissue and expression muscle simulation has been a challenging topic for a long time without an epoch making solution.

One of the most important topics is a garment transfer between 4 legs animals based on a deformation transfer from human body shape to animals’ shape to fit an original garment style and texture to a target animal. After applying a macro deformation with rough fitting of an original garment to a target animal body type with deformation transfer, then a micro adjustment with a collision detection and a basic shape conservation law is applied to clear an inside out or discontinuities on the edge. Also texture transfer in which original picture design is kept and mapped onto u-v coordinate on the transferred shape naturally is very challenging topic.

 

By applying a deformation transfer to a human face, a new character animation technique keeping a personal characteristic and identity is proposed by applying a blend shape animation of personal feature principal component vectors. To reduce the huge calculation cost of FEM analysis of cloth simulation, new course-to-fine approach is introduced by keeping the original high quality of dynamic feature of cloth action even in case a warp thread and a weft thread have different physics feature and there are a wide variety of material quality. Also the motion capturing method by projecting so many stripes onto the garment surface is proposed to capture a 3D shape and a dynamic feature of cloth accurately. Based on this method, a ground truth of a target motion can be captured and an optimum solution of feature parameters in physics based simulation for a specific target material can be estimated automatically.
